Founded in 2006, Juneyao Air is a leading privately-owned Chinese carrier and the first Connecting Partner of Star Alliance. Juneyao Air made history by launching a direct flight between Shanghai Pudong and Helsinki in June 2019. This milestone established it as the first privately-owned Chinese carrier in China’s civil aviation industry to operate intercontinental routes with wide-body aircraft.
As of April 2025, Juneyao Air operates eight direct intercontinental routes between Shanghai Pudong and Helsinki, Athens, Manchester, Brussels, Sydney, and Melbourne, as well as routes from Zhengzhou to Helsinki and Milan. Juneyao Air launched its partnership with Pudong Shangri-La in 2023, marking the introduction of the exquisite “Huaiyang Cuisine” themed Chinese menu in collaboration with Gui Hua Lou Chinese Restaurant; this exceptional offering was rolled out in December on select international routes from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The partnership has since evolved, with a significant enhancement in July 2024, introducing a refined Western menu inspired by “French Cuisine” from Jade 36 Restaurant. Additionally, the East-meets-West culinary experience has been expanded to include more intercontinental and Asian destinations, solidifying Juneyao Air’s commitment to delivering an unparalleled dining experience to its travelers.

Introduced in April 2024 in partnership with MHD China, a member of the LVMH Group, the Juneyao Air wine list showcases a carefully curated selection of over 100 wines from around the globe. This exquisite collection was handpicked by a team of esteemed food and wine experts, including Juneyao Air’s wine consultant, Andy Tan, Ningbo Mei, and David Shoemaker.
